Redemptive Discipleship: where Grace & Truth Converge
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Some of us tend towards being grace people. We don’t like to ruffle feathers and we shy away from making tough decisions and setting demands. Some of us are truth people. We operate on convictions and principles and hold firmly to standards. We willingly make tough decisions even if it makes life difficult for others. Grace people want to be loved. Truth people want justice – for wrongs to be corrected. Both have their strengths as well as their pitfalls. Without truth, grace is not really grace and without grace, telling the truth can come across as threatening. In this session, Ellen describes a redemptive style of discipleship that occurs when grace and truth fully intersect. She contends that both grace people and truth people must learn to disciple students at this intersection and tell the truth compassionately to each student.

Sustaining Growth in Marketing
Limited Capacity seats available

Together we will discuss how to sustain community engagement, key elements of communication, foundations for graphic design, and resources to help you grow your program.

Sustain community engagement through printed materials, social media, and maintaining interest in specific community topics. Include key elements of communication by knowing your audience, not everyone has an Instagram or email address. Know how to grab your community’s eye. Current society has a limited attention span and wants to be entertained.

It is so important for University-Model® schools and Christian programs to be in constant communication and fellowship with one another. We offer such a specific service to our communities that is beyond what is offered anywhere else. State wise, we are each so unique to what we are working with whether it is specific state regulations, community needs, or how we serve our students and families.

It is no small task creating an educational opportunity for families and students to thrive in. This is what you are offering and how you show up. It is an act of sacrificial love for your community and no other public organization can express this level of service. Which is why it is so important for you to utilize those voices in your community and teams and echo what our mission is. That is the true success and sustainability of marketing Christianly. And this will show in your work, this will show in what you share and how your community talks about your organization. And the right people will be brought to you when you are giving it to the Lord and algorithms won’t do that. This is not successful at the hand of man, but we are gifted tools that we must use to share what we are led to do.

Whether or not you are in the infancy stage or have a few decades under your belt, take care of your internal work before concerning yourself with the externals of public marketing. We all started small at some point. Your brand can evolve with time and the growth of your program. It is good to improve your public face. Your growth signifies health and naturally attracts people to your circle.

Pastoring the UMS Community
Limited Capacity seats available

Since we are Christian school communities, someone in your school must take responsibility for overseeing and directing the spiritual health of students, parents, teachers, and families. Who carries the pastoral mantle in your school? Central to that role is helping to resolve family, spiritual and behavioral issues between parents and their students—family issues that can have a great impact on the community itself. In this session, Mike will demonstrate how our family systems and school culture sometimes produce two types of students—the “good kid” and the “bad kid” and why BOTH types are equally undesirable. Then he will lay out values and practices that will move students toward the virtue of self-acceptance and the exciting discovery of the true self.
